Verbs in Turkish change their form depending on the subject--in this case the 3rd person singular (used when 'he,' 'she' or 'it' is the subject of the verb).
This verb is in the definite past tense. It is used when an action in the past is thought of as definitely having occured.
In this case we knew for sure that Aysha was working--we just did
not know the place where.
